Description

Bromothymol blue is the indicator of choice for titrating strong acids and bases since it has a pKa that is very near true neutral. Bromothymol blue is yellow/orange in acidic solutions, blue in basic solutions, and forms green solutions at the equivalence point. Bromothymol blue is also useful for the detection of weak acids and bases, particularly dissolved carbon dioxide.
