Description

Bromothymol blue is the indicator of choice for titrating strong acids and bases since it has a pKa very near true neutral. Bromothymol blue is yellow / orange in acidic solution, blue in basic solution, and forms green solutions at the equivalence point. Bromothymol blue is also useful for the detection of weak acids and bases, particularly dissolved carbon dioxide.
