Description
Osorno offers two coagulants for flocculation: ferric chloride and polyaluminum chloride.
Ferric (III) chloride 37 - 42% is a light brown aqueous solution that contains 12-14% of iron (III).
Ferric chloride is used for the removal of organic matter in drinking water applications. It promotes faster and better sedimentation in cold water than other coagulants, which makes it ideal for water treatment. It is one of the few water treatment chemicals that can neutralize odours.
Ferric chloride used for phosphorus removal from wastewater and in lagoons.
A jar test is necessary to determine the dosing rate of coagulants. Please contact Osorno for Jar Test Analyses.
Ferric chloride is also used for the etching of circuit boards, copper, brass, stainless steel, and art objects.
