Description
Methylene blue is a pH-dependent redox indicator which finds uses across multiple scientific disciplines. It can be used for titrations, as a probe for adsorption studies (such as tests for clay content in geological samples), as well as being used in medical research for nearly 200 years.
In its pure form, methylene blue appears as a dark green solid, but yields a deep blue solution in water – that will then become colourless in a reducing environment.
We sell methylene blue as 1% solutions in isopropyl alcohol.
