Description

The IGCP 521 2011 conference was held at Odessa I.I. Mechnikov National University in Odessa, Ukraine.  This conference was the seventh and last in a series of IGCP 521 Plenary Meetings and Field Trips.

The main objectives planned for IGCP 521 2011 were:

(1) to correlate historical records for the Corridor and evaluate the influence of sea level change and coastline migration on human adaptation;

(2) to lay out the content of the third (and final) IGCP 521 - INQUA 501 book with the tentative title “The Caspian-Black Sea-Aegean Corridor: Late Quaternary Landscapes and Cultural Evolution”;

(3) to discuss a successor project; and,

(4) to present important archaeological sites and geological outcrops not present at IGCP 521 2006.
